don't mean to harm you

2. I received my copy of Breaking Dawn last week and I've read 8 chapters and I really have to force myself to pick up the book and read. I actually prefer reading my driving theory book and that's saying something. And because I have to talk about it a little, some random thoughts...
- Why is there a stove and a refrigerator on the island that Edward and Bella go to, if it belongs to, you know vampires? It's not like they need it! But I guess Edward could have arranged for it in his determination to take care of Bella or maybe they just had them there all along to cover up the fact that they're not human? I'm going to think it's one of those but I feel like I'm giving SM too much credit...
- Why do they have a cleaning crew come to the island to clean up their mess? I'm pretty sure any member of the Cullen family would get the cleaning job done faster and more efficiently than any human. Plus, it's a sunny island, doesn't the cleaning crew react on the sparkling owners of the island? I mean, no wonder that woman, whatever her name was, suspects something...!
- There are way too many minor characters in this book now, mostly all the werewolfs. I don't know who's who anymore but it doesn't really feel important either... And I don't have the energy to care.
- I loved Jacob to pieces in New Moon so this isn't the general Jacob hate or anything, but OMG he needs to get over himself and let
- When I read fanfiction (which isn't as often as it used to be) I always felt like I was wrapped in a pink fluffy cloud if I read a particularly "fluffy" fic. This is like that, except there's also singing birds like in Cinderella, fluttering butterflies, heart shaped confetti pouring down and lot's of pink sparkles. And really cheesy love songs playing in the background. It's just way too much for me to handle at the same time. This book needs some angst. Bad.
- So, Bella's pregnant and I'm guessing that the baby is not "normal" since her pregnancy is going by so fast. Ugh, is all I have to say... I mean, I love cute babies and all but this is just... wrong.
- Stephenie Meyer seems to like pairing up people who really don't match in age. She did it in the Host and she's doing it here with the werewolfs and the people they imprint on. Quil and that little girl Claire? It just makes me uncomfortable. And I know Claire will grow and be the same age as Quil in a couple of years, but still.
- Another thing SM seems to like is people who hear voices in their heads, like Mel/Wanderer in the Host and here all the wolfs... It's like a pattern.
3. When I was going home today I walked past the book store and they had a copy of "War & Peace" by Leo Tolstoy on display. It looked so pretty and the summary on the back actually intrigued me. Anyone know if it's any good? Because I don't feel like diving in to a 1200+ pages novel just because it was pretty and had an interesting back cover summary (any book can have that!). I was thinking about just watching the TV miniseries or something and if I like it, then maybe read the book...
