I feel like anything you write can turn out like bad fanfiction if you're not careful. When I had to write things for school I sometimes realized that, and I was like "would I want to read this?" and then I realized I wouldn't so I re-wrote a it all. SM obviously didn't. I saw some hints of this in Eclipse even but now it's very obvious!
But we'll make it through the book, just one step at a time! ;)
